Malibu has come to mean the good life. Most people who can afford to live in Malibu can life the life of the rich and famous. So it should not come as much of a surprise to learn there are some really nice rehab treatment centers in Malibu California. Actually, there are 19 of them at last count. That is a lot. Yes they are expensive. And yes, the level of care and services is well above average. Most Malibu rehab treatment centers offer better food, better accommodations and a higher level of drug alcohol treatment than other programs. Keep in mind, however, long term sobriety and abstinence cannot be bought at any price. It is something you have to learn and earn.

Malibu Drug Rehab Treatment At Its Best
Saturday, May 22nd, 2010Federal Court Rules in Favor of Non 12 Step Rehab
Friday, May 7th, 2010Recently, the drug rehab industry was set straight about whether or not the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous were religiously oriented and therefore faith based. A federal judge ruled an inmate, who was a devout atheist, could not be required to complete a rehab program that was based on the 12 steps. What this means, of course, is 99% of the drug rehabs in America are religiously oriented. And it does raise the question of separation of church and state when it comes to state and federal funding for 12 step based programs. Drug rehab, such as Malibu Horizon, should be about treatment and learning to live a clean and sober lifestyle, not about religion. Forcing drug addicts and alcoholics to take a big dose of religion, as the primary solution to their problem, might be why their rate of success is so low.
Drug Rehabs in California are Ahead of the Pack
Tuesday, May 4th, 2010Each drug rehab treatment center is a unique entity. No two are anything like each other. Probably because the owners all have a different agenda. Most are in it for the money, that is the truth. I happen to like treatment centers in California because at least they understand alcoholism and drug addiction cannot be treated with a cookie cutter, 12 step approach. No two people are even remotely alike, so how can that assembly line approach make sense? And California drug rehabs seem to get it. They offer a wider range of services and therapies so they can individualize the client’s treatment plan. For my money, I’ll roll the dice with a rehab in California, knowing I’ll be getting more bang for my buck, and a better chance for a successful outcome.
California Drug Rehabs
Friday, April 30th, 2010Where you go to rehab can and usually does make a big difference in whether you are successful or not. California drug rehabs seem to understand that alcoholism and drug addiction can be treated with more than the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. AA and NA are great support groups. They are not treatment. Treatment is about treating the underlying causes of using drugs, alcohol is a drug. California has the best drug rehabs in the country. They offer the kind of treatment which treats the disease, not the symptoms.

Non 12 Step Rehab Programs
Thursday, April 15th, 2010If you didn’t see our last blog, you missed the federal ruling which made it unconstitutional to require an atheist to complete a 12 step rehab program. I am all in favor of 12 step programs. Personally, I think they are a great way to stay clean and sober. The point is they are, in fact based on faith in a higher power. And for most, that is God. Non 12 step rehab programs understand that 12 step programs are not treatment. And the odds are a serious drug addict and or alcoholic does not want to hear that God is the answer, even it is true.
Rehab is The Lesser of Two Evils
Monday, September 28th, 2009No one in their right mind goes to rehab unless they are in some form of pain, suffering or legal trouble. Drug alcohol rehab programs can be seen as some sort of punishment or it can be viewed as a place to start a brand new way of life. By the time someone needs to go to a 30 day rehab treatment center, they have suffered some heavy loses of some form or another. So, at that point it is either rehab or more pain and ultimately death, jail or the loony bin. Compared to the alternatives, all of a sudden, rehab doesn’t look too bad.
