Each drug rehab treatment center is a unique entity. No two are anything like each other. Probably because the owners all have a different agenda. Most are in it for the money, that is the truth. I happen to like treatment centers in California because at least they understand alcoholism and drug addiction cannot be treated with a cookie cutter, 12 step approach. No two people are even remotely alike, so how can that assembly line approach make sense? And California drug rehabs seem to get it. They offer a wider range of services and therapies so they can individualize the client’s treatment plan. For my money, I’ll roll the dice with a rehab in California, knowing I’ll be getting more bang for my buck, and a better chance for a successful outcome.

You might guess it means when a person have 2 or more diagnosis, and that is correct. Specifically, it refers to someone who suffers from both alcohol or substance abuse and some kind of psychiatric problem too. The majority of people who abuse drugs and or alcohol are doing so to self medicate and self soothe a mental disorder. It is also known as a co-occurring condition. When someone reaches the point where they need to go to rehab, it better be a dual diagnosis rehab, and they most certainly need to have other issues correctly diagnosed and treated. Otherwise, the person will have not resolved the underlying cause and will almost certainly be back using again.

The health and continuity is under pressure. Some of the family members do not want to confront the problem for fear of the consequences. Others are angered by the injustice of it all.
