People say smoking marijuana is no big deal. That it should be legalized. And maybe they are right. But before we go out and start planting pot seeds in the garden this spring it might not be a bad idea to consider a few things. For one thing, using marijuana can lead to becoming very dependent on it. For another, it is a proven fact that marijuana use can lead to using other drugs, like heroin, meth or cocaine. From my point of view, I think the countries position on marijuana needs to be revamped. It is very antiquated and out of date. Friday, August 28th, 2009People are always asking whether marijuana is addictive. Based on the clinical definition of addiction, craving and using despite negative consequences, there is very little room for doubt. And if there was any doubt about whether it is addictive, just ask me. There was a time when marijuana was the primary focus of my life. I smoked it every day because I liked the way it made me feel. That was 20 years ago. However, I do not think marijuana is bad or evil or should even be illegal. I am an addict and I can become addicted to any drug. The problem is me. People who have dependency tendencies would be well advised when it comes to marijuana. Marijuana use eventually will turn into marijuana abuse and addiction, for people, like me, who have addictive personalities.
