Most people think that by simply stopping drinking is no big deal. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is a lot more to alcohol detox than most people realize. The truth is it can, in some cases, kill you. That’s right. If a person goes into a state known as Delirium Tremens, better known as the DT’s, there is a 33% likelihood it will be fatal. No one wants to go into an alcohol detox rehab. And certainly not for something as seemingly trivial as quitting drinking. Think it if this way, it’s not worth dying for either.

Alcohol Detox is a Medical Issue
Friday, February 5th, 2010Alcohol Detox Requires Medical Attention
Sunday, December 20th, 2009For some people stopping drinking is not a big deal. However, NO ONE who has been drinking alcohol on a regular basis, should EVER just up and quit, without being under the direct care of a trained medical professional. The reason is it could kill them. That’s right, if the person has a severe reaction to the withdrawing of alcohol from their body, they go into a kind of “shock” reaction known as the “D.T’s” ( delirium tremens). Once that happens, and it does happen, the chances the person will die is 33%. So, don’t take any chances, find the right alcohol detox and rehab program, and do it safely.
The bottom line about Alcohol Detox
Monday, August 31st, 2009Almost 60 years ago, a doctor by the name of Silkworth made an amazing discovery. In a word, he found out that unless or until all the alcohol was completely out of a drinker’s body, it would be very difficult for a heavy drinker to quit drinking. As long as there is alcohol in the body, the body is going through withdrawal, which causes craving for more alcohol. The process of alcohol detox needs to be done under medical supervision, not only because it will much more comfortable, it can be fatal, that’s right. A detoxing person can go into a severe reaction to withdrawal, known as the DT’s. And once that happens, there is a 33% chance they will die. So, the bottom line is, would you rather go into a detox facility or would you rather die?
