Malibu Rehabs

Friday, February 26th, 2010

There are more rehabs in the Malibu California area than anywhere else in the United States.  The current total is 20 something. That’s right, there are over 20 drug alcohol inpatient treatment centers in Malibu. Naturally, part of the reason is Malibu is one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Another is its close proximity to the second largest populated city, Los Angeles. The bottom line is Malibu has become the rehab capital of America, passing Palm Beach Florida like it was tied to a post. The real underlying reason is California has been on the cutting edge of this country’s progress for the past 75 years or so. And these Malibu drug alcohol rehabs find themselves offering the most progressive drug alcohol treatment in the world.

Non 12 Step Drug Rehabs Just Make More Sense

Friday, February 19th, 2010

I know all about the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. And I think they are one of the best formats for living, especially if you’re an addict or alcoholic. They have saved more lives than modern medicine. The trouble is most drug alcohol treatment programs took advantage of the free meetings aspect and gravely short changed their clients in the bargain. Making the 12 step AA program the focus of drug rehab is like telling criminals in jail all they need is church and religion. Non 12 step rehab programs realize each client has unique problems and may not like going to 12 step meetings when they get out of rehab.

Alcohol Detox is a Medical Issue

Friday, February 5th, 2010

Most people think that by simply stopping drinking is no big deal. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is a lot more to alcohol detox than most people realize. The truth is it can, in some cases, kill you. That’s right. If a person goes into a state known as Delirium Tremens, better known as the DT’s, there is a 33% likelihood it will be fatal. No one wants to go into an alcohol detox rehab. And certainly not for something as seemingly trivial as quitting drinking. Think it if this way, it’s not worth dying for either.
